"Waxed"

A nonchalant procedure,
A careful approach,
No awful mysteries,
Silence reading through!
Feelings.

The tired eyes,
The smiling face,
A contradiction composed,
Inability to come through!
Weakness.

Empowering, magnifying,
All in vain,
Standstill to watch it fade,
Fastest than it ever did.
Soul!

Waxed to fate, it stands lifeless.

Being a part of CHAPTERS

ART defines a magnitude of difference; creatures that break monotony, individuals that bring a revolution and create an aura of incandescent self expression.

Being a writer, poet and admirer of everything that relates to art and self expression, CHAPTERS was the best I had been a part of so far. Four artists from varied fields of profession coming together to bring about a rethinking, soul searching, rediscovering of oneself. I believe I am overdoing it but I have the freedom to..

I found a profound joy in watching each painting and photograph over and over again. I grew with colors, cried with a few and smiled with many of them. The emotions we live with are what we carry forward until we breathe our last. Individuality is an amalgamation of upbringing, beliefs, societal experiences, spiritual faiths and the heart that is either hurt or loved. Finally, we break free, we dream, we chalk our dreams, we walk them and that is when we have a complete paradigm shift!

Thank you Artists for the enriching experience..!

Amanda Ray- A photographer, a wife, a soft spoken lady with precise crisp conversations. Her photographs are from places she has been to, things she loves and definitely keeps close to her heart. She loves encouraging young artists who do not have a platform to showcase their work. She helps them represent.

Lasantha Karunaratne loved and called 'Lasa', a Sri Lankan painter. She paints canvases with intricate details woven through colors. I understood her love for paint, canvas and frames when I helped her string, hang and wrap them. I know they are her other world-her own infinite dreams!

Namrata Chattaraj- An ardent lover of music, she captures moods, emotions and variations of persona with her colors. I saw chords of my own life coming alive through her paintings. I so well related to them!

Siddharth Sengupta - A young man, growing up to the extraordinary capability of painting 'evolution'. He captures abstracts, and definitely gives meaning to them. A free mind, eloquent and a synonym to his own art.

May your journey be that of the Torch Bearer!

Kolkata

It had been an amazing year 2015. Lots of learning, lots of experiences, the good, the bad and the ugly 2015 though left me with the most wonderful memories. First my daughter started talking complete sentences (too much), second I restarted my career in a newer place #Kolkata, third met the most unexpected surprise that I could die of happiness. #2015 counted!

Recipe of 2015 was:

  • My daughter started her little over zealous jumps and thuds that got her a fall from the bed upside down.
  • I met with an accident (grateful I am breathing) that got my hand upset. Apparently I'm doing well and typing with the same.
  • Moved/relocated to Kolkata.
  • I and family saved a mouse that fell into my bucket.
  • I killed another mouse that got into my daughter's way.
  • Surprised by the most thought about friend with a destiny gifted surprise meeting.
KOLKATA:

A place of #artandculture. Life's really all about music, songs, events, get-together and definitely Chaiwalas with #terracotta cups. What I find irrevocably awesome is the pride in being a Bengali or Bong. Probably it the best crowd to be with. There might not be too much of intelligence from all sides but the dare to be different from all is commendable.

I am a foodie and yes I love this place and its food--from Hilsa to Rosogulla, I am up for it. I can survive with just a Rs. 50 in my hand in a day ! It was surprising for me when my landlord cooked both lunch and dinner for 4 days till we had our cargo and luggage set. There's nothing to return this gesture except well wishes.

Jobs are too many but there's something lacking. I am still to understand what before I comment on this. Local youth complain of not having a good salary structure by employers. I still believe candidates need to fit in the right structure to have a satisfying career. Jobs are not less.

Weather, can't say much as it is very wonderful for me coming from colder place. I am yet to experience heat here. And yes, I see love everywhere..!

2016:

Wishing to make a memorable year with lots more smiles. I hope Kolkata is a turning point..!
